Q: Are your bones ethically sourced?
A: When possible, we collect bones ourselves from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. To the best of our ability, bones are sourced from animals that are naturally deceased.
Q: How long does it take to make a piece?
A: On average, a midsize piece takes about a week. All gems are individually hand-placed.
Q: How do you process your bones?
A: In some cases, bones come already processed. However, when we forage, we degrease the bones in a solution of water and Dawn soap over several days. Afterward, the bones are scrubbed clean and rinsed thoroughly. Bones are then dried and are ready for the jeweling process.
Q: Do you accept bones?
A: Yes! We are more than happy to receive bones that are from animals found already deceased in nature or animals that have died of natural causes.
Q: Do you do memorial pieces?
A: We would be honored to create a piece to remember your animal companion, provided that the bones are not too small to work with.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Unfortunately, we are only shipping within the United States at this time, although that is subject to change.
